We all know the statistics—the Church in the West is in decline, with the culture slipping away into the hands of the Enemy. The Church has been self-marginalized and continues to decline in the West. A new reformation is needed to overthrow the status quo of lifelessness and bring the Church to a place of new vitality.
This cannot be a reformation of destruction, but one that brings life. It’s not about tearing down, but building up—and building with the simple principles of Jesus: His call for us to love God, love others and make disciples. It’s not just about new models and methods and wineskins for “doing” church, but of heart and mind and devotion—a renovation of being.
Mike Chong Perkinson will be leading our time and discussion as we seek to passionately live in responsive love as sons and daughters of our Father, faithful servants of what He has called to be and do, and wise stewards of the family business (The Kingdom of God). More specifically, we will be framing our time around the following questions:
· What does a disciple look like?
· How can I lead my church in this direction when the historic DNA is ‘doing church’?
· How will this impact the way I think about leadership development?
· How will we measure effectiveness?
The Church of the West maybe in trouble, but the Church of Scripture, where God’s faithful reside, is thriving.
