Pastoral Care

The Pacific NW District is organized around six regional areas. As Pastors participate in one of these regional gatherings, our hope is that their personal lives, family lives and ministry lives might be strengthened. We desire that each of our District Pastors is involved in one of these regional clusters, for their own benefit and protection, and for the benefit and protection of others in their cluster.

EFCA Steps Toward Credential

You are interested in receiving a ministerial credential with the EFCA.

The EFCA offers a variety of credentials:

Ordination – Our highest-level permanent credential generally reserved for Sr. Pastors who have a ministry of preaching and teaching. Ordination requires either the Three-Year Renewable License, or the Five-Year Non-Renewable License as a prerequisite. Ordination is open to male candidates only. Information and requirements are found here.

Certificate of Christian Ministry – A permanent credential available to those who work in support ministries such as Worship, Youth Ministry, Children’s Ministry, Women’s or Men’s Ministry. The Certificate of Christian Ministry requires either the Three-Year Renewable License, or the Five-Year Non-Renewable License as a prerequisite. Information and requirements are found here.

Three-Year Renewable License – A permanent credential that can lead to either Ordination or the Certificate of Christian Ministry [CMM]. This credential is available to all qualified candidates. Information and requirements are found here.

Five-Year Non-Renewable License – A temporary credential that can lead to either Ordination or the Certificate of Christian Ministry. This credential is less complicated than the Three-Year Renewable License but must be followed up with an Ordination or Certificate of Christian Ministry within five years. Information and requirements are found here.

Transfer of Ordination – This process is used to obtain an Ordination with the EFCA if the candidate already holds Ordination with a different Denomination. Information and requirements are found here.

The Credentialing Officer for the Pacific Northwest District is Richard Parker. The credentialing process can be complicated. Richard will work with you to accomplish the project.

Camping Ministry Options

The Pacific Northwest District of the Evangelical Free Church partners with two camps as part of the EFCA family. Each of these camps continues to do great ministry and outreach to those who do not yet know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. The camp experience is also an excellent tool for developing young men and women as leaders, many of whom go back and serve in our churches when the camp season is concludes.
